HP keeps in touch with Windows Vista
In the lead-up to the consumer launch of Windows Vista, HP unveiled its new range of PCs designed for the OS, which included the "walk-up" TouchSmart PC and the tablet-like tx1000.

Palm co-founder Jeff Hawkins has unveiled the company's latest project: the Palm Foleo. A companion product for smartphones, the Linux-based Foleo looks like an ultraportable notebook and is designed to let you more easily view and edit e-mail and office documents, among other things.

Windows Vista was officially released in Australia at midnight. At Harvey Norman's Alexandria, Sydney store, the first official copy of Vista Ultimate -- autographed, rock star-style, by Bill Gates -- was sold to tech professional William Tsang.
