Biography

The Pablo Perez Project is a twelve piece band- two trumpets, one trombone, baritone sax, conga, timbales, bongo, piano, bass, two background vocals & lead singer. Led by Pablo an explosive percussionist, composer, and on the latest recording Executive Producer, the band lights up the dance floor with its peppy, straight-up Puerto Rican/Afro Cuban influenced rhythms that make you want to dance all night! The Pablo Perez Project (formerly known as Orquesta Yanes) originated in New Jersey circa 1985 and has performed throughout the northeast coast of the United States (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia). The band toured throughout Europe and Puerto Rico during 1993 through 1999. Pablo and the band have opened for a myriad of allstar salsero?s in some of the best clubs, dancehalls, and concerts around the world. Some major stops along the way were Atlantic City, Manhattan, The Brussels Jazz Rally, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Lille, France, Trenton Heritage Days Festival, Club New York New York, Cactus Club, Brugge, Belgium and throughout the Washington D.C. area. Pablo?s 1997 debut CD ?Pablo Perez con Pasaje Latino? was recorded in Antwerp, Belgium and was an instant success. Pablo has also recorded on two sound tracks for movies ?John Calu? filmed on location at Seaside Heights, New Jersey 1987, and ?Big in Belgium? which won Best Film at the Lueven Film Festival (1998). Pablo has also appeared on Doel Gonzalez?s ?Rompe La Rutina? as composer of ?Dime Quien Soy? produced in Puerto Rico (2003) by Celso Clemente Jr. Located in the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia Area the Band?s 2005-06 schedule included major concerts (Trenton Puerto Rican Day, New Jersey Latino Fest, Philadelphia Latino Celebration, Baltimore Latino Fest, Plaza Hispania, Fairfax Celebration, and major salsa clubs throughout New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C.
