Microsoft LifeCam NX-3000: Compare prices

By Matthew Elliot on 22/10/2007

More Microsoft reviews , RRP: AU$99.95

The good:

  • Acceptable video quality for video calls
  • Decent audio
  • Compact size with good clip
  • Inexpensive

The bad:

  • Bundled software is frustrating to use

The bottomline:

It's cheap and compact and delivers acceptable video quality, but the bundled software plagues Microsoft's LifeCam NX-3000 Webcam. Creative has a model for nearly the same price that we like better.

While the QuickCam Sphere produces excellent pictures and has impressed us with its automatic face tracking, these features don't justify the extra expense over the cheaper webcams in the Logitech stable with matching optics.

We're not wild about the design of Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks, but its image quality is so vastly superior to that of other notebook webcams that we're more than willing to make the occasional camera readjustment as needed.
