At Microsoft's E3 press conference Harmonix's Alex Rigopulos unveiled some more details about the upcoming Rock Band 2, including confirmation on some of the big acts expected to line up for the game. Headlining the list are hard-rock legends AC/DC, who finally make their rhythm-game debut with the song "Let There Be Rock."
Music legend Bob Dylan was also confirmed for Rock Band 2, with the song "Tangled Up in Blue" making the song list. And in big news for Guns N' Roses fans, Rigopulos said that the song "Shackler's Revenge" from the long-in-gestation Chinese Democracy album was also being included.
Rigopulos said that the game will ship with 84 tracks in total, including songs by Metallica, Pearl Jam, Devo, Jane's Addiction, Modest Mouse, Interpol, and more. Twenty more tracks will be available for free download after the launch. Including new and previous downloadable content, Rigopulos said that there would be more than 500 tracks available for the game by the end of the year.
Owners of the original game look set to have a seamless experience with the sequel. Any songs previously downloaded from the store will be compatible with Rock Band 2, and users will also be able to port songs from the original to completely skip the disc-swapping process.
